SAY 'YES' today to give hope for young people!
Dear Friends,
Christmas 2025
Step into King’s Park Sports and you’ll be swept up in the energy of children arriving for football practice, trampoline training sessions, tennis lessons in full swing, roller skaters gliding past, youth workers buzzing with new ideas – it’s a place alive with laughter, movement and possibility.
But here’s the truth: we need to expand our facilities.
Unless we update the facilities, too many young people will miss out on the opportunities they deserve.
That’s why we’re asking for your support today – to help us build a new sports hall. The additional hall will be more accessible for smaller groups and new activities, such as Pilates, martial arts, Zumba, dance and pickleball. This, in turn will enable us to expand our reach and give more young people in Northamptonshire room to grow, thrive and succeed.
Because this isn’t just about sport.
Participation is proven to improve mental health and wellbeing. It helps young people build resilience, confidence, teamwork, discipline and leadership – the very qualities that strengthen our community and workplaces.
The challenge is real.
Across the country, youth clubs have vanished as funding for youth provision has been cut. Here at Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’re working to ensure young people don’t miss out.
'YES' I would like to make a gift today
SAY 'YES' to developing the facilities at King's Park Sports
King’s Park Sports, which consists of Benham Sports and Indoor Tennis Centre, is one of three facilities we run as part of Action Centres UK. We work with leading sports providers alongside many schools, youth clubs and organisations such as Cube Disability to provide accessible, affordable activities for everyone.
Each year we welcome more than 100,000 young people through the doors of King’s Park Sports alone.
But we need to develop our facilities at King’s Park Sports so we can offer something different. That’s why we’re taking a bold step to invest in a new sports hall that will support young people and our community as a whole. This project will mean:
• 20,000 more young people can take part in a wider range of activities, including Pilates,
Zumba, martial arts, dance, and pickleball – not practical in the current large hall.
• A new venue for community groups, local organisations, and churches.
• Offering calming, accessible spaces for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Keeping pace with growing demand for modern sports and specialist fitness sessions, ensuring
long-term community use and participation.
This is about building more than a centre. It’s about building skills, resilience and hope for the next generation. And we’re already on our way – with £480,000 secured of the £1.2 million needed.
Now, we need your help to cross the finish line and raise the remaining £720,000:
• £5,000 will help lay the foundations for success
• £50,000 will provide a specialist sports floor
• £200,000 will fund the glass link to the current tennis centre
Every gift, large or small, brings us closer to opening the doors of a facility that will change lives for decades to come.
